Cheap spring break packages can be found if you know where to look. Internet, magazines and flyers nailed to the bulletin boards around campus is a good place to start. As with most holidays, research is key to finding the best deals.

The Internet is often the best choice when it comes to finding the best spring break trips. Their are many packages out there, so let's start with the basics.

1) What is my per person price limit? Get together with your friends and agree on a max. per person price you are willing to pay for your spring break vacation. This will eliminate many options, ranging from start. Do not forget to factor in pocket money, while your there. Many students make the mistake of not adding to their food allowance and general allowance for max. price and find that they are broke halfway through the trip.

2) Choose a destination. Remember that spring break destinations are far away typically cost more. It goes back to the old adage "Cheaper to walk than ride, cheaper to cruise than fly." Although not always the case, this applies in most cases. College spring break students in California can see that it is cheaper to fly to Hawaii instead of the Bahamas, while east coasters typically choose the Caribbean, if they want to keep costs down. A middle way is often a cruise package. For example, students can cruise from Fort. Lauderdale to the Bahamas for a fraction of what it cost to fly to the Bahamas. The bad news is that this not be the case for students cruising the west coast to Hawaii. This is largely due to the fact that the Bahamas is not far off the coast of Florida. California to Hawaii is a much greater distance, which means more fuel and in turn higher costs. Depending on the package, it can sometimes be cheaper to fly from California to Florida and take a ship to the Bahamas.

3) Decide what type of package you want. If everyone wants to drive to a spring break destination, cruise or fly? Wants the one all-inclusive package that includes airfare / cruise tickets, hotel stays, food, drinks, club entry, etc. ..? Would they prefer a semi-inclusive package, which only includes airfare / cruise fare and hotel stay? Most college spring break students prefer an all-inclusive package. They do not want to worry about how much they will make use while on the trip, however they typically turned off by the high cost of complete all-inclusive packages. It is very important to remember that each person can often spend as much or more if they buy food, drinks, and everything else separately. If your group plans to eat at fancy restaurants and environment clubs every night, it may be wiser to pay for everything up front and come with a comprehensive plan. If everyone decided to eat at fast food restaurants (not recommended) the whole time to pay as you go scenario would probably be best.

Talk to your group. Ensure that all agree on price, destination, package type, etc. .. Once you've gathered this information, you can start negotiate hunting. Good planning and research can make spring break 2010 best ever for you and your friends.
